StrakesCo-owner of Lost My Dog Records (with Pete Dafeet & Nags Modhwadia) and the Kahua Music record shop in Middlesbrough (with Dan Sudron), Strakes has been involved in dance music for 10 years starting out as a DJ and promoting events. Lost My Dog was established in early 2005 and has quickly established itself as, in the words of iDJ Magazine, “one of the most impressive deep house labels to emerge in the UK recently” with accolades raining in from all manner of leading worldwide DJs including Groove Armada, Nic Fanciulli, Jimpster, Phil Weeks and Inland Knights. The Kahua Music record shop, based in Middlesbrough, UK and online at www.kahuamusic.com opened in July 2005 and specialises in deep and tech house.

As a DJ Strakes has played all over the UK alongside the likes of Norman Jay, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, Diz, Greenskeepers and Rob Mello at nights including Stylus, Clubclass, CityFly and at the legendary Bomb nightclub in Nottingham. He has also won the coveted ‘Raw Talent' competition in iDJ magazine, with a glowing review stating, “Strakes' mix covers everything from Chi-town bleepery to Midlands deepery, and from big vocals to West Coast laziness... move over deep house b**tards, there's a new kid in town”. He has also won the MYNC Project hosted ‘Red Room Sessions' DJ competition. Recently he has moved into production remixing Timeless Banditz for Lost My Dog and working alongside Pete Dafeet remixing Jay Tripwire and Richie Robinson, the latter of which received huge support from the likes of Mark Farina.

Strakes describes his sound as “straight up house – basically anything that has some bump to it and makes people want to move their hips.”
