Stylus celebrate their second birthday in October and are bringing back one of Manchester’s best loved nights. RoboDisco Returns, the deep house phenomena, makes a welcome jaunt and we caught up with DJ Elliot Eastwick to find out more.

The legacy of RoboDisco still lives deep in the hearts of many Mancunians, it must be exciting to bring back such an influential night back to clubland?

"I hope people still care about it, I know I do. Robo was always about a good mix of music, it was never as based around house music as the label. We had Andy Weatherall, David Holmes and Jaques Lu Cont, alongside the more housier people."

Since the demise of Paper Recordings, have you been involved with any production?

"No, I've been away from the studio for ages. It was doing my head in."

How do you assess the current Manchester scene at the moment?

"It's a good mix of different things; El Diablos, chips, casa, some good band nights..."

Will you be playing a set from back in the RoboDisco or a mish-mash of old and new?

"Old and new I should think, not just house either, some good funky rock, some disco, some electro, all sorts, in true Robodisco fashion."

You are somewhat of a jetsetter. Your ‘world famous’ pub quiz has been taking centre stage in Chicago and beyond. Where else have you been recently on your travels?

"New Zealand, Australia, France, America... I like travelling a lot now. I used to hate it."
